A new, and popular, movie of the 1950s was Sleeping Beauty. It was about a Princess, Princess Aurora, who was cursed by the evil witch, to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. The curse was partly fixed by Mistress Merryweather so that the princess would not die as a result of this incident, but simply fall asleep and be woken up by her true love's kiss.
The 1940s hosted the debut of many new Disney movies. The Song of the South was one of these movies. This one did stand out from the others, however. This movie created the plot for the well known Disney log flume ride, Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain is a 5-story high ride that consumes 950,000 gallons of water, in total.
